  • #life | I’ve thought to myself over the past several years, “I don’t really get bored anymore.” This isn’t quite true; there are still times that my mind is empty and searching for something to busy itself with, but the experience is quite different.

I love revisiting this one from time to time.

  • #life #software-practice | Nearly every time I need to drive a difficult, subtle, or contentious decision, I write a document. Sometimes that’s half a page, sometimes its six pages. Sometimes much longer, although brevity is valuable. I see a few benefits to this approach that keep me coming back it it again and again.

As someone who mostly thinks through writing: Seconded!

  • #life #therapy | ...One hour. 60 minutes. The standard time slot for all sorts of appointments. But this guy I’m seeing does it differently. I see him once every six weeks for six-hours straight. Yes, a six-hour session. And what a joy it is to work on yourself this way.

A fantastic idea. Reminds me of how refreshed you can feel after breaking your routine completely every once in a while. There's more to explore here.
